5-Day Egg Fast for Keto Diet – DAY 2

Day 2 of my 5-day egg fast started early! I woke up several time overnight with a full bladder, and by 5 am, I was wide awake. Not my preferred way to start the day.

Anytime I cut carbs this low, my body seems to expel every ounce of water it’s holding. That’s a good thing, getting rid of excess water weight, but not so great in the middle of the night.

BUT! With this mass flushing (pun intended), I was down 1.4 pounds from yesterday. Obviously, it’s water weight, but it’s water weight that needs to come off anyway. We will see what tomorrow morning brings on the scale ?

In the meantime, here are my weight stats and my food for the day!

Starting Weight: 147.8
After Day 1: 146.4

Breakfast

Today was a big repeat for breakfast which consisted of Egg Coffee and Scrambled Eggs. The slight variation from yesterday was that I added a few drops of stevia to my coffee.

I discuss how to make an Egg Fast Iced coffee on Day 1, so make sure to check that out!

Egg Fast for Keto Diet Breakfast

2 Eggs scrambled in 1 Tbsp Butter
Coffee with 1 Egg, 1 Tbsp Butter, and 1 Tbsp Coconut Oil

Total for breakfast: 3 Eggs, 3 Fats, 0 Cheese

Lunch

Like breakfast, lunch was a repeat from yesterday with deviled eggs. My husband happened to snag one of my deviled eggs after work yesterday, so I had to make more.

Luckily with the epic fail of fried hard-boiled eggs last night, I had plenty of hard-boiled eggs left over to make more deviled eggs. I even made hubby a few of his own to keep him out of my lunch!

I have enough devilled eggs left for one meal, and that will be all of those this week. I can’t handle peeling more eggs at this point in my life.

Shameless pleading, one last time…If you have any tips for peeling eggs, PLEASE COMMENT BELOW! Seriously, I need help!

Egg Fast for Keto Diet Lunch

I found myself with a wicked bad sweet craving after lunch today. I usually have a square of dark chocolate after lunch, and I was really missing that today. I was wondering at this point if the stevia-sweetened coffee was a bad idea?

It’s possible the sweet taste at breakfast kicked in a sweet craving. It’s probably against the rules, but I did chew a piece of sugar-free gum to get through the craving. It worked!

Total for lunch: 3 eggs, 3 fats, 0 Cheese

Dinner

I couldn’t stand waiting any longer! I made the Egg Fast Fettuccine Alfredo for dinner tonight. It’s just SO DARN GOOD!! But with it, I broke down and added cheese to my day.

Worth it!

Seriously, if you haven’t tried the egg fast fettuccine alfredo from I Breathe I’m Hungry, you are missing out! It’s one of the best egg fast recipes (keto-friendly) you can make.

Well, after I folded and added cheese to the egg fast menu, nothing was stopping me from enjoying an Egg Fast Shake! Call it a snack…call it dessert…either way, I can pretend it’s a milkshake because it honestly tastes just like one!

    1. It’s been a while, but I think I used 1 tbsp of avocado mayo per two egg yolks, and just mixed them together, then sprinkled a little smoked paprika on top for flavor.

  1. Trick to peeling boiled eggs: Bring your water to a boil (with a touch of salt in the water). Then add your eggs. Bring them back to a boil and let it boil for the desired length of time. (10mins for me!) Remove the pot from heat and let them sit in the pot for about 5mins.
Bring them out of the water and peel. I have to peel mine under running water because they are still hot…..but the peel falls off.

    1. Ohh! So you don’t do an ice bath but peel them when they are hot? I haven’t tried that yet, but I’m willing to try anything! Thanks for the tip!
