My journey with keto started in my 20s when I dropped 30 pounds while my husband was deployed and I was working full time, far from home. Keto helped me take control of my health when everything else felt uncertain. I returned to it after my pregnancy, but this time, weight loss was slow, and my body felt unfamiliar. Doctors brushed off my concerns with “you’re not that obese,” but I knew something wasn’t right.

Then life hit hard — COVID, my husband deployed again, work stress, and the sudden loss of my best friend. I spiraled into emotional eating and self-isolation. I felt like a shell of myself and was consumed by guilt, shame, and chronic health issues. But I knew keto had helped me before, and I clung to that one thread of hope.

On March 23, 2024, I made a promise to myself: I would show up for me. Not for a number on the scale, but because I deserved to feel good again. I started slow — low-impact workouts, logging my meals, cooking low-carb recipes my whole family would eat. Then I hit a plateau. But instead of giving up, I reached out for help.

With the support of a doctor who truly listened, I discovered I had a severe dairy allergy, thyroid issues, and multiple autoimmune diseases. I completely transformed my meals to be keto and allergy-friendly — no dairy, no soy, no eggs, no nuts. And the weight started to come off. More importantly, I started to feel alive again.
