Keto Low Carb Lox Omelet (Easy Keto Breakfast Ideas)
This Keto Low Carb Lox Omelet has all the yumminess of a lox and bagels recipe at a fraction of the carbs. Super easy to make, you can present it as a nice omelet, or make it even easier by turning it into an egg scramble.
I’ve always been a fan of lox bagels. The chewiness of the bagel, the tang of the capers, the crunch of the onions, and the flavor of smoked salmon all held together with the goodness that is cream cheese. YUM!
Of course, with the right keto bagel recipe, you can still enjoy a Lox Bagel, and I’ll post a recipe soon. BUT, I don’t always have a keto bagel ready-made when I’m craving a nice lox breakfast, and so making an omelet is an easy and quick way to satisfy the craving.

How to Make This Homemade Lox Recipe
Start by melting a tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. As much as I LOVE my iron skillet, this is definitely a job for a non-stick skillet (unless you have mastered the art of seasoning an iron skillet so nothing sticks. I have not).
Add your onions and saute until they become translucent.
Pre-scramble your two large eggs, then pour them over the sauteed onions.
Then, while the eggs are cooking, place the sliced up smoked salmon and cream cheese on top.
This next step requires a bit of patience. If you try to fold the omelet too soon, it will quickly break apart.
The butter in the skillet should keep the eggs from burning too quickly, so don’t worry about that. Make sure you allow the eggs to cook almost all the way through before folding the omelet in half.
Once folded in half, continue cooking each side for an additional minute. I personally do not like runny eggs, so I tend to cook mine longer than most.
Once done, gently slide onto a plate and top with capers!
This is a super filling breakfast, so whether you “break-your-fast” in the morning or closer to lunchtime, this breakfast should keep you plenty full for hours to come.
