The Best Pork Ribs
Tis’ the season to … make ribs!
With the weather warming up, there is truly nothing better than “getting back out there” and enjoying life and meals outdoors.
Who doesn’t love a great BBQ, spending time with family, or enjoying the weather?
Don’t have a grill? No problem! This pork rib recipe is actually baked to perfection and is an absolute show stopping-crowed pleaser!
I’d love to take all the credit, but Mr. Healthy Ambitions developed the dry rub recipe with me and I can’t wait to share it with you.
Keto Pork Rib Ingredients
With just a handful of pantry staple ingredients, this recipe will come together so quickly you will just have to sit back and wait for them to be ready!
Meat: For this recipe, you will need 3 pounds of pork spare ribs. However, if pork ribs aren’t your style, you can substitute them with beef ribs.
Dry Rub: Spin those spice racks! To make the dry rub you will need 2 tbsp black pepper, 2 tbsp smoked paprika, 1 tsp ground ginger, and 1 tsp garlic powder
Something Sweet: The secret to great ribs is a touch of sweetness and to pull that off (and keep it Keto) you will 2 tbsp Swerve Brown Sweetener.
How to make Baked Pork Ribs
Start by preheating the oven. Start by preheating the oven to 275 degrees F and prepare your plan by lining the bottom of a broiler pan with foil.
Make your dry rub. In a small bowl, mix in all the ingredients you need for the dry rub and set aside.
Dry the ribs. This may sound like a silly step, but you don’t want to skip it; pat the pork ribs dry with paper towels.
Remove the membrane. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs.
Pro-Tip: This is also a crucial tip; If you skip this step your ribs will come out tough.
Place the ribs in a roasting pan. Once you have removed the membrane, place the ribs in the foil-lined roasting pan you prepared. When the ribs are in the pan, spread the dry rub over both sides of the ribs.
Cover with foil and bake. After you have coated the ribs, cover the pan with foil and bake for at least 3 hours or until the meat falls off the bone.
Serve. When the ribs are done, remove them from oven and allow the ribs to rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
How to remove the membrane
For the best fall off the bone ribs, you need to remove the thin membrane covering the rack of ribs. When leaving the membrane on, it can cause the ribs to be tough when cooked resulting in the ribs not giving you that fall off the bone perfection.
To remove the membrane, use a knife and gently slide it under the membrane then using your fingers pull the membrane away from the bones. If it is difficult to remove, grab a paper towel and take hold of it and pull to remove.
