Keto Nutella
Have a hankering for Nutella? I know I do! Honestly, what is better than a perfectly creamy spoonful of hazelnut spread? … I’ll tell you, absolutely nothing.
However, Nutella isn’t keto … at least until now!
Get ready ladies and gents, I’m about to change your world! This is a sugar-free homemade Nutella recipe you are going to want to try, save, share, pin, post, tweet, text, etc. to everyone you know.
This is not a drill, let’s grab those ingredients and let’s get cooking.
Homemade Keto Nutella Ingredients
With just 5 ingredients, this recipe comes together super quick!
Nuts: For this recipe, you will need 3 cups of roasted hazelnuts. I buy mine from my local grocery store. However, you can order them online as well.
Pro-Tip: I use straight roasted hazelnuts with the skin still on for convenience. However, if you are looking for a super smooth Keto Nutella spread, you can buy blanched hazelnuts. They may be hard to find in the store, so check out the link to order them on Amazon!
Dry Ingredients: To get that incredible cocoa flavor, you will need 1/3 cup of cocoa powder (unsweetened) and to get that sweetness you will need 4-6 tablespoons of powdered Monk Fruit Sweetener, along with 1/4 tsp of salt.
Wet Ingredients: 1 tablespoon of avocado oil.

How to make Keto Nutella
Start off by measuring out 3 cups of hazelnuts and dump them into your food processor. Blend until you notice it beginning to form a paste.
One you have made a dry hazelnut paste, you are going to want to add 1 tbsp of avocado oil and continue to blend until smooth (about 5-8 minutes).
You will notice your “paste” starting to take on a much better consistency, but we are not done yet! Add 1/3 cup cocoa powder, 4-6 tbsp of Monk Fruit, and 1/2 tsp of salt and continue processing until fully mixed.
That homemade Nutella is seconds away and looking better than ever! Once you’ve blended your Nutella to the consistency you are looking for, pour it into an airtight container or mason jar and keep refrigerated.
Don’t have a food processor? This is mine and I absolutely love it; highly recommend!

Tools to make Nutella
Although Sugar Free Nutella comes together quick and easy, there are somethings you need to make it happen. Below are some of my favorite kitchen tools for this recipe.
Food Processor – Love this processor for this recipe and so many more.
Spatula – Don’t waste a drop of your keto Nutella! It is so important to have a good spatula when cooking and baking. These are my favorite.
Mason Jars – I love having mason jars handy for storage containers and recipes like this.
Questions you may have:
How long does homemade keto Nutella last?
Provided you can resist eating it all, in an airtight container (and refrigerated), your Nutella will last for about 1 month before you will need to whip up a new batch.
Is Nutella allowed on Keto?
In the traditional store-bought sense, absolutely not. Store-bought Nutella is not Keto friendly as it has roughly 21 grams of carbs per serving! This recipe however IS Keto friendly and only has 2 grams of net carbs per serving (3 total grams if that’s how you count your carbs)!
Is there a low sugar Nutella?
Yes, this recipe! However, if you are looking for a store-bought version there are choices like Choczero’s Chocolate Hazelnut Spread (sweetened with MonkFruit) and more. My only advice when buying store-bought low sugar options: check the ingredients and mind your macros!
Are hazelnuts good for Keto?
Yes! Within hazelnuts, you will find healthy fats and great flavor. 1oz of roasted hazelnuts will give you about 17 grams of fat and 5 grams of total carbs (2 grams net carbs) making them a great keto-friendly snack.
Is hazelnut spread the same as Nutella?
Yes! Nutella is a brand name, it is all just a super delicious hazelnut spread! When looking at store-bought options you will see it referred to as hazelnut spread because Nutella itself is its own brand.
