Trick or treat? I’m always looking for something fun to do for the holidays, and if you’re searching for Halloween meals for kids, I think you will enjoy this one.

These Keto Mummy Dogs are a super fun meal to make with the kids for the spooky season!

Eating crescent roll mummy dogs has been a long-standing tradition in my house during the week of Halloween. Thankfully, the wonderful magic of fathead dough has allowed us to continue the tradition even after adopting a ketogenic lifestyle.

I made my first batch of Keto Mummy Dogs for Halloween 2018, and they were an instant hit with the whole family.

This version of fathead dough is easy to roll out, easy to cut into strips (a.k.a. mummy bandages), and a cinch to wrap around a hotdog.

How to Make Keto Mummy Dogs for Halloween

Start by whisking together almond flour and baking powder in a medium bowl, and set aside.

Then, in a microwave-safe bowl, melt the cream cheese and mozzarella in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until cheese dough forms.

Next, add the egg and stir until well combined. You will still see a little separation between the cheeses and the egg, and that’s totally ok.

Finally, the almond flour and baking soda mix, and knead the dough with your hands until all the ingredients are fully incorporated and a soft dough ball forms. (It will be super sticky)

Wet your hands with warm water so you can more easily work with the dough and divide it into two dough balls. It’s easier to roll out the dough in smaller portions.

One at a time, roll each piece of dough into a rectangular shape between 2 pieces of parchment paper.

Using a pizza cutter, cut the dough into thin strips. This is your mummy wrap.

Wrap the strips of dough around your hotdogs to look like bandages. Separate a section on one of the ends to show the mummy “face”.

Bake at 400-degree F for 12-15 minutes, until the dough starts to brown.

Now it’s time to get a little creative! Using mustard or sugar-free ketchup, draw features on the mummy’s “face”.

This is a cool (and tasty) Halloween activity to enjoy and eat with the kiddos.

Serve and enjoy!

  1. In the ingredients you list baking powder, but in the instructions you mention baking soda. I’m assuming baking powder is correct but just want to double check. Thanks!
